| Abstract | The constellation of artificial satellites COSMIC (Constellation Observing System for Meteorology, Ionosphere and Climate) program, launched in 2006 and COSMIC-2, scheduled for launched in 2016 consists of radio occultation Global Positioning System (GPS) receptors, whose purpose is to realize observation measurements of the atmosphere in quasi real time. This work presents the project for development and adaptation of software data processing of COSMIC-2 and generates atmospheric indicators of interest for weather forecasting and space weather research. The software to be developed will be deployed in the center to be deployed in the Brazilian Center Data for processing of occultation radio measurements, the CDAAC/BR, which is being created at the center for Brazilian Studies and Monitoring Space Weather (EMBRACE) of the National Institute for Space Research (INPE), in São José dos Campos. RESUMO: A constelação de satélites artificiais do programa Constellation Observing System for Meteorology, Ionosphere and Climate (COSMIC), lançado em 2006 e COSMIC-2, com lançamento inicial previsto para 2016, consiste na composição de um sistema de receptores do sistema de Posicionamento Global (GPS) de rádio ocultação, que tem como propósito realizar medidas de observação da atmosfera em tempo quase real. Este trabalho apresenta o projeto de desenvolvimento e adaptação de todos os programas computacionais de processamento de dados do COSMIC-2 para geração de indicadores atmosféricos de interesse em previsões meteorológicas e pesquisa de clima espacial. O sistema a ser desenvolvido será implantado no centro brasileiro de processamento de dados de medidas de rádio ocultação, o CDAAC/BR, que está sendo criado no centro de Estudo e Monitoramento Brasileiro do Clima Espacial (EMBRACE) do Instituto Nacional de Pesquisas Espaciais (INPE), em São José dos Campos. | |||
